While Heath Ledger's death is shocking, I find the world's indifference to what really matters more so.

==========

If you've seen the movie Armageddon, I know you can clearly remember the 'animal cracker' scene. Grace and AJ lying on the grass one afternoon, canoodling under the tree, where AJ (Ben Affleck) asks Grace (Liv Tyler)

Do you think that anyone else is doing this same exact thing this very moment?

Is it really possible to have another person on the other side of the world doing exactly what I'm doing? Nagtatype, nagb-blog, iniisip ang movie na Armageddon at nag-iisip pa ng ibang pwedeng gawin.

Another one of my 'wala lang' moments.

==========

I agree with Maya Angelou when she said that without courage, you can't practice anything consistently. Oo nga naman. Paano ako magiging consistent pumasok ng opisina kung araw-araw akong takot akong lumabas ng bahay at humarap sa tao?

I want to see the world the way she does. I want to have her compassion and brevity and how she remains down-to-earth despite (or because of?) her success.

One day, I will see this world as it is, not just how I see myself in it. I will know why the caged bird sings!

Go, Grow And Glow

I read somewhere that EVERYTHING that you do to/with your body, good or bad, will show its effects during the later years of your life. Taking care of our bodies sounds simple, but it seems most people find it hard to do (ako rin guilty dyan minsan).

Friday - sick throat
Saturday-Monday - cough, colds, fever
Tuesday - naka-sick leave na

The whole time I was resting at home, my internal dialogue was: I am healed, healthy and getting healthier.

I call it MIND over BODY :D

I love Mama and Papa!!! I thank God that they are still strong to drive me to the hospital, go up to my room to check if I've taken my meds. I thank God that they still cook soup and sinigang for me.

When I grow old, it will be my turn to take care of them.

Thinking aloud: Hindi pa siguro ako ready mag-asawa. Masyado pa ata akong nag-eenjoy sa bahay namin. Di bale, 22 years old pa lang naman ako. Hehe!

Bits and Pieces of January 12-18, 2008

I ended the week last Saturday, January 12, spending my time with my niece and nephew (Dea and Bleu). They saw this old bookmark that I made when I was in high school and they wanted to make their own...so I cut out an old folder and let them use my colored pens (which I've been keeping for so long now). They enjoyed it so much that after finishing their bookmarks, they kept on asking me every hour if the glitter glue has dried. Ang cute nila no? I want to be their favorite tita.

I thought of a nice shoutout for Friendster (pati pala yun pinag-iisipan ko na rin??): Remembering the good. So I digged into my old stuff from Grade School and High School and here's what I found:

My notebook in Japanese class. Hehehehe. And that's my name written in Japanese characters...how I wish I can remember all my lessons from Sensei Garang.

I was in High School when I made these...I know, i know. I am sooo poor in drawing so probably it's not my calling. Hahaha.

Grade school yearbook! Taken 1998. Look at how old I looked. Haha. AND I wanted to be a writer then because I was inspired by Elizabeth Wakefield (seriously). Ganyan ka-lawak ang alam ko sa literature nung Grade School that I wanted to be like Francine Pascal. Sa mga lit freaks nung Grade School, saludo ako sa inyo. Hihi.

I found this reallllyy nice website: www.bighugelabs.com where you can make these:

If you visit me in the office, not on the phone, not typing anything and just vigorously moving my mouse, this is what I'm busy with :D Make your own and share with your friends!! Pwede mo pang ipaprint or ipamigay. It can make for a cheap but very personalized gift.

I am rekindling my love affair with reading...I want to finish Joel Osteen's Become A Better You by next week so I can start with Why Good Things Happen To Good People. June got this for a bargain in A Different Bookstore here in Eastwood, buti na lang sale, he bought it for just 800+, original price is 1000+. Whoopdedoo.

If I can recommend one book that I haven't read, it would be TIPPING POINT by Malcolm Gladwell. I tried his BLINK book (salamat sa mababait kong opism8s), it was so good I didn't want to finish it. :D

I still don't understand the fuss on Hollywood celebrities. Kahit nagpapa-gas hinahabol pa rin ng paparazzi?

=================

A big thing that I realized this week: Often, you become friends with people you agree with. Does not apply all the time, but I see this in most of mine.

================

Yun lang. See ya ulit sa next blog. :D

The Audience Of One

There's no better life than a life of my own pace. I don't want to live according to how my parents want me to, or how people around me do, or what is presented to me by the media. If I have to write a message to myself today, it will be:

You know who you are, deep down. Never let other people or circumstances (good or bad) dictate how you should feel about yourself. You are the apple of God's eye, priceless. Be content with what you have but never be satisfied. Keep desiring for more. Desire to give more, desire to receive more.

I want to be a better girlfriend this year!!

============

My mind was blank when, a few weeks ago, I was asked by one of my close friends what I envision for this year.

I never made New Year's resolutions and I am not planning to make one. We are encouraged by our church to make our visions for '08, though. I just made up some general ones, like giving more, read more books, eat in moderation..etc.

I hope I can come up with my '08 banner soon!!! :D
